Violent Felony Dismissed

The defendant was employed at a fast food restaurant at which a shooting occurred. Upon review of the surveillance footage, officers were able to determine who the shooter was, and they were also able to see the defendant provide the shooter with the gun just moments before the shooting. The defendant was charged with aiding and abetting an assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill. Through investigation, Mr. Marshall was able to learn more about the nature of the relationship of the shooter and the alleged victim and Mr. Marshall was able to show that the defendant had a reasonable belief that the shooter was in danger before providing the firearm. Ultimately, Mr. Marshall was able to negotiate an outcome that resulted in the defendant’s charges being dropped.
